Nutrition
The Beeches offers a wide range of food choices to meet our residents’ personal preferences, along with their specific nutritional requirements. We source our produce and meat from the local green grocers and family butchers. Our chefs prepare all three meals daily in our kitchen using fresh, high-quality ingredients geared toward cognitive function and overall health. Meal selections are based around a four-week menu cycle that is continuously updated and supplemented with seasonal selections and dishes that incorporate the freshest ingredients available. Residents take their meals in a bright and serene dining room setting. We make a point of keeping freshly made cakes and biscuits on hand for residents’ families and other visitors.

Accommodation
At The Beeches, we have a beautiful contemporary-designed lounge and dining room. As soon as you walk through The Beeches entrance door, you’ll take in a pristine hotel vibe. The large lounge is beautifully furnished with a large TV screen and a fireplace. Patio doors lead out to the gardens and offer a very pleasant view throughout the year.
The majority of the resident bedrooms are spacious and airy, with high ceilings, large windows, and accessible en-suite facilities. The rooms are tastefully furnished and equipped with ceiling hoists and nurse bells for ‘round-the-clock care. Many residents bring their own furniture and artwork to express their individual style and feel even more at home.
We’ve achieved relaxing and enriching surroundings both indoors and outdoors. Residents tend to flower beds and potted plants in our outdoor garden space and enjoy lovely window views from inside. The lovely front and rear gardens at the care home face west, so they benefit from the sun in the afternoon and evening. The neatly planted flowers, shrubs and trees can be enjoyed from the patios or pathways around the garden.
We are continuously investing to preserve the beautiful character of the building. The residents' rooms are being refurbished and updated as soon as they become available.

Community
Our relationships and connections with the community enhance the lives of our residents. We want residents to feel included in life beyond the home, and we are delighted to welcome the choir from St. Mary’s, a local school, to sing for us. This is always a heartwarming, uplifting experience for residents and staff, and the children enjoy speaking with the residents.
Escorting residents to their place of worship is part of our support system. For those with religious, secular or spiritual beliefs, we have several contacts who visit the home, including Deacon Rachel, Father Tom, and Father Irek. We are also in contact with our local Imam and Rabi.
Regular visits from the local GP surgery, optician, chiropodist, and dentists take place on a regular basis. We work with the local Hospice, St Barnabas and Worthing Hospital.
The Beeches supports the local children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House charity and holds an annual cake sale which raises funds for the Macmillan Nurses, welcoming everyone who wants to participate. We also support our local sister home, Highgrove House, in their charity fundraising.
We make use of the local library to obtain books for residents. Additionally, our local community Centre at Heene Road offers an extensive range of activities and exhibitions which residents attend.
We are fortunate to have several volunteers who visit the home and offer their support with activities and chats to residents. These people include friends of the home, relatives and previous employees. We have also provided work experience for 6th form and college students. Several of our younger staff members introduce young people to our residents, facilitating a mutually enjoyable exchange for both age groups.
Welcoming the outside in is important in maintaining connections to community, families and keeping in touch with the world beyond the care home. Our visitors can come and join residents for meals, garden parties, and seasonal celebrations, including Diwali, Christmas, and Easter. We provide a private area for residents to host their own gatherings, and we welcome visitors to join in with Burns Night, Valentine’s Day, Bonfire Night, Harvest Festival and more.
Gold Standards Framework
“The Beeches participates in the Gold Standard Framework Accreditation Programme (GSF), which is an evidence-based end-of-life care award programme operated by an independent organisation. GSF Accreditation aims to ensure a ‘gold standard’ of care for everyone, with any condition, in any setting, given by any care provider, at any time in a person’s last years of life. In 2025, The Beeches Nursing Home achieved “Platinum” Quality Hallmark Award for providing the highest quality end-of-life care.”
